What I attempt to replicate through sound is difficult to describe, though it could broadly be encompassed by an umbrella term of ‘context.’ My exploration of ‘context’ is something I have attempted, and even strove, to distance myself from, but it continued to reel me back in. This ‘context’ is how individuals perceive art, largely influenced by a hierarchy of interchangeable, intersectional, and transcendental factors that are directly impacted and defined by culture, society, environment, and the individual.  These factors can start as something so small as the oscillations of sound waves impacting your ear, which have been affected by the surrounding environment and been transmutated to something wholly different by the time your brain interprets the sound, to the individual’s own sense of enjoyment and displeasure when perceiving a piece of music or art, and to the overarching social constructs that bind our opinions to a forcefully conforming world of thought. This train of thought has both the ability to liberate and enslave, depending on who uses it and how aware they are of the implications.
